Yann Sommer could be Andre Onana’s replacement at Inter

Inter Milan are interested in bringing in Yann Sommer as part of a goalkeeper shake-up at the club, as per fcinter1908.

Despite only joining Bayern Munich in January, Sommer could leave the club this summer. Remarkably, the Swiss international is open to departing the club, especially since Manuel Neuer will likely return to being the starting goalkeeper for Bayern.

Sommer played 25 games for Bayern since his €9m move from Borussia Monchengladbach in the winter. Keeping eight clean sheets and winning the Bundesliga title with the Bavarians, he looks set to move on.

Inter are preparing for a complete revamp in goal. With Onana looking increasingly likely to join Manchester United, the Nerazzurri are already preparing to replace the Cameroonian. As they are likely to receive about €60m for Onana, they will have enough to make the desired changes.

Remarkably, Onana is not the only keeper who is set to leave. Long-time club captain Samir Handanovic is also said to be departing last season’s Champions League finalists. In fact, Inter could bring in three goalkeepers in this summer window alone.

Along with Sommer, Inter are also looking at Shakhtar Donetsk’s number one Anatoliy Trubin and Raffaele Di Gennaro of Serie C side Gubbio.

In Sommer’s contract with Bayern, there is an exit clause where the club would receive the same amount for the keeper as they paid for him. That would require Inter to cough up €9m for the Swiss keeper’s services. Trubin’s price tag is similar to Sommer’s, which would be of no issue to Inter.
