Tottenham battle rivals to sign Brentford keeper David Raya

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is on a “mission” to leave the club this summer, according to a report from Sunday People (25 July, page 56)

The Spaniard is one of the most in-demand goalkeepers in the Premier League, and clubs like Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea are vying for his signature.

Raya has only 12 months left on his current deal at Brentford, and he feels that his time is up. The 27-year-old has established himself as a fantastic keeper and he is determined to join an elite club.

He is becoming frustrated with the £40 million price tag, something he has no control over. It appears that the Bees are not willing to lower that amount.

David Raya – will he leave Brentford?

Spurs need a new keeper in the summer transfer window with Hugo Lloris set to depart.

The veteran goalkeeper has been a great servant for the north London club but he wants to move elsewhere. The club should also look for young players in goal, and they have earmarked Raya as a major target.

However, his price tag could be a major obstacle for Spurs.

Likewise, Chelsea are also looking to sign a new keeper with Edouard Mendy having left for Saudi Arabia. The Blues are heavily linked with a move for Andre Onana, but Raya would probably be a cheaper alternative.

Manchester United are also in search of a new keeper. Dean Henderson is certain to leave this summer, while there is uncertainty over the future of David de Gea as well.
