Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman ahead of the summer window, as per CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs.
After a disappointing campaign that saw them sack two managers, Tottenham are looking to get their priorities back on track ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Spurs are looking to bolster their defensive options and have identified Kilman as a possible addition to their squad.
Kilman has not had the best season with Wolves, but the English defender remains very highly-rated in the division.
Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui showed faith in him this season but he believes the defender has not reached his full potential yet.
Spurs may have to wait for their next manager to arrive before making a concrete move for Kilman, who is valued at around £20m, as per transfermarkt.
Tottenham news – Max Kilman
Kilman is a physically dominant defender whose ball-playing ability is not as polished as his defending. The 26-year-old centre-back is not the finished article, and can further improve with the right guidance.
Tottenham have Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona this season but it seems unlikely they will make the deal permanent despite the Frenchman playing 34 times this season.
If Lenglet returns to Spain, Spurs will be without a natural left-sided central defender. Potential manager Arne Slot prefers to play a left-footed defender on the left side of his centre-back pairing, and this role will be perfect for Kilman.
Kilman will be a quality addition to the Tottenham squad with his Premier League experience and quality. He will undoubtedly look to improve under Slot’s tutelage if a move to Tottenham materializes this summer.
