Sadio Mane is negotiating a transfer with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, as the forward is keen on leaving Bayern Munich this summer, as per The Athletic.
Senegal international Mane has had a far from enjoyable spell in Munich since joining the German champions from Liverpool last summer for £35m. The 31-year-old forward suffered a dip in form in his debut season, one which manager Thomas Tuchel called out publicly.
Mane is in talks with Saudi side Al-Nassr through his representatives as they will like to add him to the squad this summer. The Senegal captain was also targeted by Al-Ahli, but his preference seems to lie in a move to Al-Nassr to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bayern Munich are prepared to allow Mane leave the club as he is not in the manager’s long-term plans, and would be willing to negotiate a fee for the forward.
Sadio Mane keen on Bayern Munich exit
Mane was nowhere near his best in his first season at Bayern Munich, and it looks as though he will not have a second season at the club. He scored only seven times for the side in 25 Bundesliga appearances as a leg injury disrupted his campaign and cost him a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The forward also had an altercation with Leroy Sane that earned him a suspension from the squad. He failed to thrive at the German club and is keen to moving elsewhere this summer.
Al-Nassr have already signed Seko Fofana and Marcelo Brozovic in addition to Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca, who were at the club last season. They will be happy for Mane to join them due to his pedigree and experience.
