Official: Real Madrid sign Arda Guler from Fenerbahce

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have officially signed Turkish teenager Arda Guler from Fenerbahce.

Guler departs the Turkish giants after having a stellar campaign with the club. The 18-year-old contributed with six goals and seven assists in the 2022/23 campaign as Fenerbahce finished second in Turkey, winning the domestic cup.

Real Madrid completed the signing for Guler earlier today and will pay €20m plus a potential €10m in bonuses. On top of that, Fenerbahce will receive 20% in a future sale, should there be one.

Real Madrid beat out Barcelona and AC Milan to sign Arda Guler

As reported last week, Guler was well followed by several big names across Europe. Real, along with Barcelona and AC Milan were said to be the most keen in collecting the teenager’s signature.

Despite sending club representatives to Turkey to try and convince Guler, Barcelona will ultimately miss out on their target. The was optimism in the Barca camp after talks with the Turkish international, but in the end it was not enough. Fenerbahce also offered the teenage star improved terms to remain at the club but he was keen on a move.

Guler signed a six-year deal with Real Madrid, which will expire in summer 2029. Medical tests were already completed earlier today before the Turkey international signed the contracts.

The midfielder becomes the latest player to move to the Santigo Bernabeu this summer. He joins  Jude Bellingham, Joselu and Fran Garcia as Real’s incoming summer transfers. The highly-rated teenager is the record sale in Fenerbahce history, having specifically requested for Real Madrid to pay above his release clause.
