Leeds United defender Robin Koch is set to complete a season-long loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, as per The Athletic.
Following their relegation from the Premier League last season coupled with their off-the-field issues, Leeds United are prepared to lose a number of their stars ahead of the commencement of the 2023-24 season. Players like Rodrigo, Wilfred Gnonto, Tyler Adams and Crysencio Summerville have been linked with moves away.
Germany international Koch is among the first to complete an exit from Elland Road this summer as he is on the verge of moving to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan for an undisclosed fee.
Koch is contracted to Leeds United until 2024, having signed a four-year contract when he joined the club from Freiburg for £12m after their promotion in 2020. The loan move to Frankfurt essentially spells the end of his time at Leeds United as he will leave the club as a free agent next summer.
Robin Koch set to lead Leeds United exodus
Koch is undergoing his medicals and will be presented as a new Frankfurt player in a few hours after both clubs reached an agreement for the German centre-back.
Leeds United have already reached an agreement with Union Berlin over a loan move for Brenden Aaronson this summer, and more players are expected to follow the pair out of the door before Daniel Farke takes charge of his first match as manager.
Koch played 74 times for Leeds over three seasons at the club, playing an important role at the club. The 26-year-old featured in all but two league matches last season.
