Leeds United are among several clubs interested in signing Edouard Michut from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.Â
The 20-year-old joined Sunderland on a season-long loan last summer after making eight first-team appearances for Les Parisiens.
He featured in 28 appearances in league and cup matches for the Black Cats last season as they lost out in the play-off semi-finals to newly promoted Premier League side, Luton Town.
Part of the initial loan agreement saw Sunderland have the option to make the move permanent, but the championship club opted against triggering his buy option.
Now back in Paris, Michut is unlikely to regularly feature for PSG, hence a move away from the French capital seems the most likely option.
Leeds are indicating strong interest in signing the 20-year-old which will depend on conditions decided by PSG in the coming days
Despite the addition of Ethan Ampadu from Chelsea, Leeds may be short of midfield options as Marc Roca has joined Real Betis while the future of Tyler Adams at Elland Road remains uncertain and Adam Forshaw is weighing a move away from the club.
Leeds manager, Daniel Farke is in dire need of quality midfield additions and Michut is viewed as a potential candidate who could play across different areas in midfield.
After making 24 championship appearances for the Black Cats, Farke will hope to build on the Frenchman’s championship experience in helping The Whites regain promotion back to the Premier League.
