The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to make a grand return in 2023 with the much-awaited traditional “home and away format.” This has sent a wave of excitement among the cricket-loving fans of the country.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced earlier this year that all the teams would be playing seven home and seven away games in the league stage across twelve venues over fifty-two days.
This format will see each team play at least one match at their home, allowing fans to celebrate their favorite teams in their backyard.

The traditional format is expected to attract even greater fanfare as teams travel across India and experience different cultures firsthand.
It will also allow teams to showcase their skills in different venues around India, build up local fan bases, and create on-field buzz, which is the heart of cricket.
“That’s the beauty of playing at home; the crowd is your 12th man,” KKR CEO Venky Mysore told ESPNcricinfo.
From Eden Gardens to Wankhede Stadium, the beauty of cricket will travel across cities and states, with fans rooting for their home teams through their most immaculate slogans. To drumroll and trumpet and celebrate both losses and wins, IPL 2023 will showcase the true spirit of spectator sports.
Gear up, cricket fans, as there will be no more bio bubbles, extreme covid measures, and empty stadiums this IPL.
With this new format, the IPL promises to bring more entertainment, excitement, and fan positivity than ever!
