Fulham have entered into negotiations with Sevilla over a move for Argentine forward Lucas Ocampos, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Cottagers achieved a top-half finish in their first season back in the Premier League under the tutelage of Marco Silva and are keen to build on their success in the 2023-24 season by strengthening their squad this summer.
Argentine winger Ocampos has been one of Sevilla‘s best players in recent seasons as he has consistently performed for the Andalusian club, helping them win the UEFA Europa League this season. The 28-year-old has caught the eye of Fulham this summer, and the English side are prepared to bring him to London.
Fulham have proposed a fee of around £12.9m for the exciting forward, who is entering into the final year of his contract at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Both sides remain in negotiations over the potential move.
Fulham keen to add firepower to attack in Lucas Ocampos
Argentine forward Ocampos is one of the most impressive forwards in Spanish football. The 28-year-old is capable of playing on either flank or behind the striker and is an accomplished finisher in and around the box.
Despite his failed sojourn to Ajax last summer, Ocampos remains very highly-rated in Spain and managed five goals in the second half of the season after he returned to the club.
Signing a player of Ocampos’ quality will relieve Aleksandr Mitrovic of some of the attacking burden he has at the club and provide another quality outlet for Silva’s side. Ocampos will make a good addition to this Fulham squad.
