English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace are prepared to commence talks with midfielder Ebere Eze over a new contract at the club, as per David Ornstein.
England international Eze has been a standout performer for Crystal Palace since arriving from Queen’s Park Rangers in 2020. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has entered into the final two years of his contract at Selhurst Park, and the club is prepared to tie him down.
Premier League champions Manchester City were interested in signing the midfielder during the summer window after an injury to Kevin De Bruyne. They eventually decided against pursuing him and opted to sign Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers, instead.
Eze was one of the most important players for the Eagles in the 2022-23 season and contributed ten goals and four assists in the league. He has been their go-to player in attack since the exit of Wilfried Zaha this summer, and has impressed got the side. He has scored one goal for the side this season in the league.
Crystal Palace have moved to secure their prized assets this summer, having handed Michael Olise a new contract. They will be prepared to offer Eze improved terms to match his status as the team’s talisman.
Eze has developed into one of the league’s finest attacking midfielders, with his form earning him his big international break. He featured for England’s Three Lions in their last international friendly against Scotland earlier this month.
Crystal Palace know that Eze is one of the team’s senior players now, and they are keen to tie him down to protect his value. A deal could be reached in the coming months for the former QPR star, deservedly.
