Chelsea and Man Utd to hold talks with Victor Osimhen

Chelsea and Manchester United are both on the lookout for world-class strikers this summer.

Both sides clearly lacked a focal point up front last season, and they are scrambling to fix that at the earliest.

According to the Express, the two clubs, along with Premier League rival Liverpool, are planning to hold talks with Victor Osimhen in the coming week.

The Nigerian’s representatives are currently weighing the options for their client, and a move to the Premier League is one of the choices on the list.

Osimhen is coming off the back of an incredible season with Napoli, scoring 26 times in Serie A as the Azzurri lifted the title for the first time in 33 years.

He also scored fives times in the Champions League, as Napoli made the quarter-finals. The 24-year-old formed a great partnership with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the front line, but there is a chance that the marriage may not last too long.

Chelsea and United aren’t the only major European clubs searching for the striker this summer.

Real Madrid are also on the lookout for a number 9, with Karim Benzema ending his time at the Santiago Bernabeu and moving to Saudi Arabia.

Bayern Munich also do not have a world-class goalscorer in their ranks since the sale of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona last summer.

Osimhen is sure to be one of the standout choices for all these clubs. He has only gone from strength to strength in the last couple of seasons, and a breakout move to one of Europe’s top clubs seems very much on the horizon.

With his best years still ahead of him, Osimhen looks certain to be one of the game’s top marksmen for years to come.
