Chelsea and Arsenal eye move for Everton’s Onana

Chelsea and Arsenal are among the clubs eyeing to sign Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, as his departure is almost inevitable, as per Het Nieuwsblad.

The 21-year-old midfielder has established himself as an indispensable performer at Goodison Park following his £34 million move from Lille last summer.

The report also claims that Sean Dyche’s side are sure to witness the exit of the Belgium wizard if they face another relegation battle (currently in 15th place, two points off the drop zone ) this summer or even remain in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the Belgium international has caught the attention of Premier League teams such as Arsenal and Chelsea. The former’s director Gaspar is said to be in ‘constant contact’ with the player’s representatives about a possible summer transfer for 61.4 million Euros after a failed January attempt.

Both the London clubs are contemplating bids for the young midfielder as they look to add to their midfield options when the transfer market reopens.

Will Onana leave Everton

Despite Everton’s general struggles, the Brazilian colossus has impressed in his debut season.

This season, the midfielder has made startling 27 appearances and scored one goal.

Onana, Rice, and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo are three names that have been frequently brought up ahead of the summer, with the Everton star topping the priority lists for both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Given his desire to play for a larger club, Onana’s departure is very probable, and it will be a career boost for him to play at more prestigious clubs.

Everton will have to strike a bumper profit for themselves whether they remain or leave, with debt levels running so high.

Ohana’s bid comes at a critical time when he can draw enormous funds from his sale at the relegation.
