3 Celtic players who may join Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have poached manager Ange Postecoglou from Celtic, ending their three-month search for a new manager. The Australian manager has been known to trust his former players, and there is a possibility of him bringing some Celtic players to London. Here are some of the players who may join Postecoglou in London;

Cameron Carter-Vickers

Cameron Carter-Vickers

USMNT defender Cameron Carter-Vickers was one of Postecoglou’s trusted lieutenants in the 2022-23 season, featuring 39 times for the Hoops across all competitions. The 25-year-old came through the Tottenham academy system, having joined the club as an 11-year-old in 2008. Carter-Vickers had a WhoScored average rating of 7.00 in the Hoops’ treble-winning season, establishing himself as a key player for Postecoglou.

Tottenham are set for a mass exodus in defence, with Davinson Sanchez, Clement Lenglet, Ben Davies and Eric Dier all possibly leaving the club this summer. With the club chasing after players like Max Kilman and Harry Maguire, Carter-Vickers may be a better fit given his understanding of the club and manager. The USMNT star has a market value of around 9.5m, according to Transfermarkt.

Jota

Portuguese winger Jota enjoyed a very productive season in 2022-23 as one of the main men for Celtic in their treble-winning campaign. The 24-year-old winger had an average WhoScored rating of 7.46 in 43 appearances for the Hoops across all competitions, scoring 15 goals, including two in four UEFA Champions League appearances, and assisting 11.

Spurs struggled for goals last season, with Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son the only players to score more than 15 goals for the side. Postecoglou’s Celtic side founded their success on their ability to score a ton of goals, with five players reaching double figures for goals. Jota will provide quality cover for Son in attack and help improve the squad. He has a market value of around 10m according to Transfermarkt.

Matt O’Riley

Matt O'Riley

Matt O’Riley enjoyed a hugely successful season with Celtic, leading the SPFL in assists with 12 in 38 appearances. The 22-year-old Dane had an average WhoScored rating of 7.11 for the Hoops in 2022-23, establishing himself as a key player for Postecoglou. He ended the season with four goals across all competitions, as well.

O’Riley will be a good addition to the Spurs squad under Postecoglou, given his quality in central midfield. The Denmark U-21 international is coveted by numerous clubs in Europe, according to Fabrizio Romano. The former MK Dons midfielder is valued at around 6m, according to Transfermarkt.
