Arsenal are close to completing a deal for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, with both sides agreeing on a £65m transfer fee, according to a report from David Ornstein.
Germany international Havertz joined Chelsea in 2020 and made his intention to leave the club known this summer amid interest from Real Madrid. The 24-year-old informed the Blues that he would not be extending his contract, which was due to end in 2025 and preferred to move now.
Chelsea placed a price tag of £75m on the former Bayer Leverkusen star and Real Madrid baulked at the fee before deciding against moving for him. Arsenal, however, identified the versatile attacker as a potential quality addition and moved for him.
Arsenal and Chelsea have now agreed on a total package of £65m for the 24-year-old, who has agreed personal terms with the Gunners. Both sides will negotiate for the final details of the transaction and Havertz will join Arsenal.
