Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ahli have made an approach to sign Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Al-Ahli are keen on returning to the summit of Saudi football following their relegation in 2021-22 and immediate promotion the following season. They have already signed two high-profile players in Edouard Mendy and Roberto Firmino this summer.
The Saudi club have made an approach for Senegal international Mane, who moved to Bayern Munich last summer. They are prepared to offer the 31-year-old a three-year deal to move to the Gulf if he shows interest in a move this summer.
Mane did not enjoy a very good debut season at Bayern on a personal note, with a dressing room bust-up with Leroy Sane earning him a suspension. The former Liverpool star, however, is currently not keen on a move away from the club, according to his agent Bacary Cisse.
Al-Ahli set to tempt Sadio Mane with Mendy, Firmino reunion
Al-Ahli have added two former Premier League stars to their ranks in Mendy and Firmino, and are keen to use the sentiment of playing with both men to convince the forward to join their side. Mane and Firmino form two-thirds of the deadly Liverpool attack that won the Premier League and UEFA Champions League, and with Mendy in goal, the forward won Senegal their first international trophy in 2022.

Mane is a top player despite his slight dip last season, as he showed with his brace in Senegal’s friendly win over Brazil last month. He scored seven goals and laid five assists for Bayern despite having a rough season, as well.
Al-Ahli will be keen to sign Mane and are awaiting a green light from the reigning African Player of the Year to join the likes of N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly and Karim Benzema in Saudi this summer.
